Questions, answered
Is my client data safe?
You decide what crosses over. Send busy-only placeholders to a client's calendar and the full details stay on yours — they never see more than they should. OAuth tokens and iCloud app-specific passwords are encrypted at rest, and twocal only ever touches the calendars you connect.
Why not just subscribe via ICS for free?
An ICS subscription is read-only, and your calendar app refreshes it on its own schedule — often up to 24 hours late. A client books you at 2pm; your other calendar finds out tomorrow. twocal writes the change onto your other calendar as a real event and keeps it current — not a stale mirror.
Does it work with iCloud?
Yes — included on every plan, at no extra cost. Apple doesn't offer a "sign in with Apple" button for calendar access, so you connect with your Apple ID and an app-specific password you create at account.apple.com. We encrypt it at rest and only ever use it to reach iCloud's calendar server. iCloud also can't notify us when something changes, so we check it about every five minutes rather than in real time. Google and Microsoft calendars still update in about a second.
Can't an automation tool already do this?
Up to a point. General automation tools don't sync deletions — a cancelled meeting stays stuck on your other calendar — and two-way setups can loop and duplicate events. Per-task pricing adds up fast on a busy calendar. Sync correctness is the whole job here, not a side effect of a generic workflow.
No scheduling links or mobile app?
Deliberate. Every hour goes into one thing: sync that doesn't fail silently. Keep using Calendly or Cal.com on top — twocal just makes them see your true availability across every calendar, instead of one.
Is there a limit on how many calendars I can sync?
No practical one. There's a soft cap that exists only to stop spam and abuse — if the system ever stops you, send us a message and we'll raise it, no questions asked, usually the same day. No new tier to climb, no surprise pricing. If you run more calendars than most, you're exactly who twocal is built for.
