How to get help, and what we need to resolve it quickly.
Something isn't syncing right now
Check the reliability dashboard first. It's live, it's public, and it shows what the fleet is actually doing — how many events are verified in agreement, median sync time, and the share of syncs landing inside five seconds. If something is broken across the board, you will see it there before we could tell you.
If the dashboard looks healthy, the issue is likely isolated to a single pair rather than the service as a whole. Open that pair and use Force full sync — it re-reconciles both calendars from scratch instead of processing only the next change, which clears most cases where one side has drifted out of step.
What the pair status means
Every sync pair shows one of three states on your dashboard.
- Active — syncing normally. If an event is still missing or stale, run Force full sync from the pair page.
- Paused — syncing has stopped and no changes are crossing. If you did not pause it yourself, email us and we will tell you why it stopped.
- Error — the last sync failed. Send us the pair name and we will read the job and tell you what happened.
A pair using iCloud or an ICS feed updates slowly
That is expected. iCloud and ICS feeds have no way to notify us when something changes, so those pairs are checked on a timer rather than pushed — iCloud about every five minutes. Google and Microsoft accounts connected directly use push notifications, and their changes usually cross in about a second. If an ICS feed comes from a Google or Microsoft account, connecting that account directly moves the pair onto push.
Connecting iCloud
iCloud connects with your Apple ID and an app-specific password, not your regular Apple ID password. To create one:
- Make sure two-factor authentication is turned on for your Apple ID — Apple requires it for app-specific passwords.
- Sign in at account.apple.com, open Sign-In & Security, then App-Specific Passwords.
- Generate a new password, give it a name you'll recognize (for example "twocal"), and paste it into twocal.
If you revoke that app-specific password, or change your Apple ID password (which revokes all of them), the iCloud pair stops syncing until you create a new app-specific password and reconnect. We'll email you when that happens.
Only iCloud calendars can be synced. Reminders and calendars stored "On My Mac" aren't iCloud calendars, so they won't appear in the list.
Include the pair name and roughly when you noticed the problem. That is usually enough for us to locate the exact sync job and tell you what happened, rather than asking you to reproduce it.
Support reaches the team that builds twocal, so answers come from someone who can open your sync logs rather than follow a script.
For data requests — export, deletion, anything under GDPR — you can do it yourself under Settings, or email us and we will handle it.
